Professor Nishanth Gopalakrishnan Chemmangattuvalappil
Dr Nishanth Chemmangattuvalappil is a Professor of Chemical Engineering in the department of Engineering at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University Malaysia. He is a chartered engineer and chartered scientist of Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3). He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University, AL, USA (2010). His main areas of expertise include product and molecular design and recovery of fine chemicals. His current work focuses on the application of molecular design concepts to design benign and green solvents, integration of molecular design techniques into the design of biorefineries, carbon capture using ionic liquids and specialty chemicals recovery from bio-oil.
Ir Dr Ng Lik Yin
Ir Dr Ng Lik Yin received his MEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering and PhD in Engineering from The University of Nottingham. His specialisation cover areas of Process System Engineering, especially on computer-aided molecular design and synthesis, integration and optimisation of biomass processing processes. As an advocate for clean and sustainable future, Dr. Ng is utilising his expertise in designing green products, synthesising green production processes, and synthesising sustainable consumption and production frameworks. Dr. Ng is also active in industrial consultation projects, working with industries on utilities conversation projects and providing training to engineers.
Professor Ir Denny Ng Kok Sum
Professor Ir Denny Ng Kok Sum is Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University Malaysia. Prof Ng has published over 250 papers with an h-index of 44. He is active in various professional bodies, which include IChemE, Young Scientist Network - Academy of Sciences Malaysia (YSN-ASM), etc. He is a fellow of IChemE, UK and The Higher Education Academy, UK; Chartered Engineer, Engineering Council, UK; Professional Engineer, Board of Engineers Malaysia; ASEAN Professional Engineer; Vice Chair of YSN-ASM, Chair of Academic Research on Palm Oil Sustainability, etc. With his excellent contributions, he received various international and national recognitions.

Ir Dr Yoon Li Wan
Ir Dr Yoon Li Wan is an experienced engineering educator with a strong commitment to education. She is a Chartered member of Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE, UK) and a Professional Engineer of the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Her research focuses on bioprocess engineering, particularly in the field of resource recovery from industrial waste/wastewater. Dr. Yoon has received numerous awards for her contributions to research and teaching. She is also actively involved in the Palm Oil Special Interest Group in IChemE, serving as the Deputy Chief Editor in the committee.
Ms Aisha Ridzuan
Ir Dr Savier Kong Zong Yang
Dr Kong earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology in 2021 through a thesis by publication. He has authored 41 journal articles, with over 70% as the lead author, in reputable Chemical Engineering journals. Dr. Kong serves as an Early Career Editorial Board Member for Separation and Purification Technology (Elsevier) and is on the Advisory Editorial Board for Journal of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology (Wiley). He is a Professional Engineer registered with BEM and boasts over 6 years of industrial experience as an Assistant Project Manager, focusing on process plant design in industrial projects.
Dr Karen Kong Gah Hie
Dr Karen Kong Gah Hie is currently a postdoctoral researcher at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University, specializing in Process Systems Engineering, with a focus on decarbonization strategies. Her primary research interests lie in the optimization of renewable energy utilization under carbon reduction targets, employing various methodological approaches. Dr Kong has consistently applied her expertise in developing mathematical models to ensure the effectiveness of decarbonization planning across regions. Previously, she investigated the feasibility of peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading networks over multiple periods, employing fuzzy multi-objective optimization techniques to determine optimal coalition structures. She has also developed a multi-period energy planning software incorporating P-graph methods, considering the dynamics of P2P energy trading. Her current research (2023 to date) explores the integration of Power-to-X (P2X) technologies within decarbonization frameworks and examines how regional collaboration can contribute to achieving overall decarbonization goals. As the first author, Dr Kong has published numerous articles in prestigious chemical engineering and energy journals, including Current Opinion in Chemical Engineering, Energy, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews.

Distinguished Professor Saidur Rahman
Professor Saidur Rahman is a Distinguished Research Professor and Head of the Research Centre for Nano-Materials and Energy Technology at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University. He was Chair Professor in the Center of Research Excellence in Renewable Energy at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM). Prior to joining KFUPM, he worked for 18 years at University of Malaya, a premier research university in Malaysia. Thomson Reuters awarded him as a highly-cited researcher for being among the top 1% of researchers with most cited documents in his research field from 2014 to 2016. Professor Rahman also won the highest accumulation citation award from University of Malaya for four consecutive years from 2011 to 2014. A number of his papers was listed among the top 25 articles in ScienceDirect published by Elsevier Limited. He has published more than 350 journal papers and a majority of them are in top-ranking journals. He has more than 16,000 citations with an h-index of 60 in Google Scholar. To-date, Professor Rahman has supervised more than 65 postgraduate students and has secured and managed more than RM10 million in research grants in Malaysia. He is currently working on improving the performance of solar thermal system with the application of nanofluids and phase change materials.

Associate Professor Dr Numan Arshid
Dr Numan Arshid completed his Masters of Electrical Engineering at COMSATS University Pakistan and obtained his PhD in Physics with distinction from University of Malaya, Malaysia. His PhD research focused on the development of metal oxide nanostructures supported on carbon matrix for supercapacitor and electrochemical sensing applications. Additionally, he has worked on the preparation of solid/gel polymer electrolytes for electric double capacitors and novel electrode materials for hybrid supercapacitors. His research at the Graphene and Advanced 2D Materials Research Group (GAMRG) focuses on the preparation of 2D materials and their application for electrochemical energy storage.

Dr Dalila Alias
Dr Dalila is a Ph.D. holder in Nanotechnology and a Chemical Engineering degree. Her specialization lies in the intersection of rubber recycling, biomass research, and nanotechnology, where she has demonstrated a commitment to advancing sustainable technologies. Her research contributions include studies in rubber recycling methods, innovative approaches to biomass utilization, and the application of nanotechnology in engineering solutions. This dual experience in research and engineering positions her as a versatile professional capable of bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications, and she is eager to bring her diverse skill set to contribute to cutting-edge projects and advancements in engineering and sustainability.

Associate Professor Ir Dr Chua Bee Lin
Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Chua Bee Lin is a Chartered Chemical Engineer registered with the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), UK, and a Professional Engineer (Branch: Process) registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Dr. Chua's research interests encompass Process and Food Engineering, Process Control and Modelling, Natural Product Processing, Green and Sustainable Extraction of Bioactive Compounds, and Drying Technology for Natural Products. She has guided and mentored numerous postgraduate students, including four master's and six Ph.D. students. She has secured 10 research grants and leading four projects as Principal Investigator. She has authored 46 publications, with over 70% as the first or corresponding author.

Associate Professor Ts. Dr Farihahusnah Hussin
Farihahusnah Hussin received her Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia in 2008. Her then moved to University of Malaya, Malaysia and completed her Master of Engineering Science in 2014. Her thesis focused on the modification and characterisation of bleaching clay for enhancement of their adsorption capacity in palm oil physical refining. Afterwards, she continued her PhD study in Chemical Engineering at the University of Malaya. Her research focused on wastewater treatment using renewable energy. She started working at Research Centre for Carbon Dioxide Capture and Utilisation (CCDCU), ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University, Malaysia as a Research Fellow since June 2018 and become a Senior Research Fellow in 2022.
Her recent research activities include: 1) Biomass conversion technology, 2) CO2 capture and utilization technology (adsorption process and electrochemical), 3) Green solvents (deep eutectic solvents), 4) life cycle assessment (LCA) and environmental impacts, 5) water and wastewater treatment. Over the years her research was focused on environmental engineering-based projects. She has more than twenty published articles in ISI-indexed journals, and she has presented papers in national and international conferences and seminars as invited speakers and oral presenters. She has more than 594 citations with h-index of 9 in Google Scholar. Since 2018, She has been extensively involved in 6 research projects funded by ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ University. She is currently supervising 1 PhD student as co-supervisor and 6 final year students as main/co-supervisor. She is also an active reviewer of high impact factor journals such as Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering and Chemosphere. She is a Professional Technologists of Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), Malaysia. She is also the member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Associate Member of the IChemE and member of American Chemical Society (ACS).
Ir Dr Ayu Haslija Abu Bakar
Ir Dr Ayu Haslija Abu Bakar is a Professional Engineer (Ir.), Chartered Engineer (CEng), and previously an Assistant Professor at UCSI University. She holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia, a Master’s in Environmental Engineering, and a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering. With expertise in biomass valorization, water treatment, and nanosilica extraction, she has led numerous research projects and industry collaborations. A recipient of multiple awards, Dr Ayu is an active journal reviewer, conference committee member, and community educator. Her work bridges academia and industry, driving impactful advancements in green technology and environmental sustainability.
